Overview
IEEE TENSYMP 2027 invites proposals for Special Sessions focusing on emerging, niche, and interdisciplinary research topics that may not be fully covered by the main symposium tracks. Special Sessions provide a platform to highlight novel directions, visionary ideas, and community-building efforts within IEEE Region 10 and beyond.
Proposals are especially encouraged in rapidly evolving areas, cross-disciplinary themes, industry-driven topics, and collaborative international research initiatives. A minimum of four accepted papers is required for a dedicated session.
Special Session Scope
Proposals are especially welcome in areas such as:
- Emerging technologies not yet mainstream in established tracks
- Interdisciplinary and cross-domain research themes
- Industry-focused innovations and real-world deployments
- Collaborative international or multi-institutional research initiatives
- Recent advances from funded research projects or consortia
- Frontier topics with high future impact potential
Proposal Guidelines
A Special Session proposal should include:
- Session Title
- Scope, Motivation, and Objectives (approximately one page)
- Justification highlighting uniqueness beyond regular tracks
- Relevance to the TENSYMP 2027 Theme
- List of Organizers (Names, Affiliations, Short Bios)
- Tentative List of Contributors / Prospective Authors
- Expected Number of Papers (minimum four accepted papers required for a dedicated session)

Review and Publication
- Papers submitted to Special Sessions will undergo the same rigorous peer-review process as regular submissions.
- Accepted and presented papers will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore, subject to IEEE quality standards.
- Special Session organizers will support the review process in coordination with the Technical Program Committee, following IEEE policies.
