About the Conference

A premier platform for advancing research, innovation, and collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region

IEEE Sri Lanka Section

The IEEE Sri Lanka Section represents a vibrant and growing community of engineers, researchers, academics, and students committed to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. Since its inauguration in 2003, the Section has played a key role in strengthening Sri Lanka's presence within the global IEEE ecosystem through technical excellence, leadership, and impactful collaborations.

IEEE TENSYMP 2027

IEEE TENSYMP 2027, to be held from 12–14 May 2027 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, marks a significant milestone for the IEEE Sri Lanka Section and the wider IEEE Asia–Pacific community. The symposium provides a high-impact platform for advancing interdisciplinary research, innovation, and collaboration at the intersection of intelligent technologies and societal resilience.

Conference Theme & Vision

This theme highlights the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, communications and the Internet of Things, and intelligent sensing and actuation technologies to strengthen resilient infrastructures across the Asia–Pacific region.

It reflects the collaborative focus of IEEE technical societies—including the IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Signal Processing Society, IEEE Communications Society, IEEE Sensors Council, and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society—toward addressing critical challenges such as climate change, natural disasters, and global health crises. Aligned with IEEE's mission of "Advancing Technology for Humanity," the theme underscores how connected intelligence can empower societies to anticipate, withstand, and adapt to emerging disruptions.

IEEE Collaboration & Global Impact

The theme Connected Intelligence for Resilient Societies directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Through multidisciplinary collaboration among IEEE communities such as the IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Communications Society, and IEEE Sensors Council, the theme promotes intelligent, connected systems that enhance disaster preparedness, climate resilience, smart infrastructure, and digital health.

Aligned with IEEE's mission of Advancing Technology for Humanity, it emphasizes ethical, inclusive, and sustainable innovation to strengthen societal resilience across the Asia–Pacific region.
